FACILITIES:

The Home

Marsden Grange enjoys an elegant and homely atmosphere with the sitting rooms and conservatory enjoying peaceful views onto the lawned garden. All facilities have been thoroughly modernised to provide the maximum of comfort. A high standard of Care is provided and our Managers will be available to ensure that each resident achieves the maximum benefit during their stay at Marsden Grange.

We are pleased to welcome both ladies and gentlemen into the Home either on a long or short term basis. Accommodation is available in single or double rooms, each with their own washing facilities, commodes are available when required, gas central heating, emergency call button and television aerial sockets.

Some of our bedrooms are situated on the ground floor for residents who have difficulty in walking, but a chair lift enables easy access to the other bedrooms on the first floor. Residents are welcome to furnish their rooms with their own possessions as appropriate. Residents may come and go as they please, although they must inform Staff before leaving the Home, for reasons of Fire safety. Independence is encouraged as much as possible.

Staff and Registration

Our Care Assistants provide a high level of care to exacting standards and are fully trained in accordance with our stated objectives in the Marsden Grange "QUALITY POLICY". Staff have attended Basic Care Assistant, NVQ's, Basic Food Hygiene, Moving and Handling, First Aid and Fire Safety courses. Certificates and awards are on display in the entrance hall.
Every room contains a call switch for the residents to summon assistance, if required at any time, day or night.

The Home is Registered by the National Care Standards Commission under the Care Standards Act 2000. Not only does the Home comply with the strict regulations of the County Council, but also with the Environmental Health and Fire Services Departments.

Activities

Activities include movement to music and light exercises, dominoes, card games, knitting and sewing.
Other outside auxiliary assistance provides social stimulation to residents on a regular basis including work experience programmes in conjunction with local schools and colleges. Shopping trips and days out are arranged as required in small groups.
We should be delighted if relatives and friends of residents would join us on any social occasion we may hold at the Home.

Gardens

There are large well kept private gardens to the front and rear of the Home, and a terrace for residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Barbecues and picnic teas are organised on the terrace during summer months.

Residents are responsible for the safe keeping of their personal valuables.
A drawer in each bedroom will have a lock and key.
