ABOUT US:

We like to think that Marsden Grange is a "Special" Residential Care Home.

marsden grange

The Home is set in extensive, beautifully kept grounds where residents can walk in safety and yet relax in privacy.

We provide:

  • A "family" atmosphere.
  • Warm and friendly staff.
  • Individual care for each resident.
  • Encouragement towards independence.

INTRODUCTION

introduction

The Home occupies a fully modernised Lancashire Country House, providing accommodation for 24 residents and is registered with Lancashire County Council as a Preferred Provider. There is a large conservatory and private garden where people, depending on the weather, may enjoy a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea or sit and enjoy the flowers.

In order that residents may receive the highest standard of care and attention, we operate a Key Worker System. Generally speaking, once a potential resident and/or relative, have visited the home and decided to give consideration to a trial stay, Mrs Littlewood will meet the resident in his or her own home. With a friendly face to recognise, entering the Home need not be such a daunting prospect. Mrs Littlewood will be on hand to offer an early welcome and to introduce the new resident to other members of the Home. Personal appointments will be made for an individual for the chiropodist, hairdresser and optician, medical attention, if required is provided by the local Doctor of their choice.

Once residents have settled into the Home, a detailed assessment is carried out to provide for physical, emotional and spiritual needs as well as social requirements.

Our Social Diary offers people the chance to follow up their interests and hobbies from within the Home, we also arrange shopping trips, days out to the seaside and local countryside in our own vehicles, also concerts in the Home. We provide entertainment for all occasions, again both in-house and via external trips.

Our fees depend upon the level of care that a person may require and can start from £286.00 per week, paid in advance. We have 12 single rooms and 6 shared, all with hand basins and some with en-suite toilet. A balanced and nutritional menu with choices is provided.

We would be delighted to show you around the Home so that you may see for yourself the high standards of care and attention we provide and you may like to talk to some of our residents or our Manager, Mrs Finch. You may ring for an appointment to visit us, but if preferred, Mrs Littlewood will visit you at your home. If you would jut like to pop in unannounced, we would be only too pleased to see you.

Pendle Hill

Many of the bedrooms at Marsden Grange offer picturesque views of Pendle Hill and the surrounding countryside, a well known beauty spot to visitors, also well known for its history of witches and witchcraft.
The home is well served by the local amenities. The Post Office is within a short walking distance and the local Doctors' Surgery is also very close to hand.

Immediately outside the Home there is a bus stop providing services to Nelson centre and shops, approximately 1 mile away. The town of Nelson offers a main line railway station, and the nearby M65 motorway is within 2 miles and services many of the local Lancashire towns.
